Recap of Crypto Futurism & Legal Engineering 2023 Conference in Próspera
This Próspera Builders’ Summit in Roatán concluded the past weekend, leaving transformative ideas and new business initiatives.
The summit brought together pioneers in crypto-technology, legal structures, and financial innovation, from local Hondurans and around the globe.
Whether you attended it or you’re joining us in the next one – let me share with you about the wonderful experience and insights we had!
From The Core Of The Startup City
The conference happened in Próspera: a startup city, based in the beautiful Caribbean island of Roatán. Próspera transforms human governance to steer human progress. And as a special economic zone, it does it through better laws, business regulations, and governance services designed to foster entrepreneurship.
It was quite valuable to get insights on Próspera's mission and how it operates legally, directly from Erick Brimen (CEO) and Nick Dranias (General Counsel).
Alongside, from Niklas Anzinger, founder of Infinita VC – you get a better understanding of how a special economic zone impacts immensely in the growth of a startup, especially if you have a Latam startup.
Out of these talks, I get three main takeaways:
Here, you have an environment where you can build your project, your startup, with way less friction than in the traditional way.
Here, you can invest, in either setting your own established project/company and get better ROI, while also providing a positive impact by creating opportunities in an underdeveloped country.
And also, it’s not all rainbows, of course; but here’s an important question I’d like to ask: Wouldn’t it be worth it to try something new and ambitious? Would you be willing to go through the challenges for this higher purpose and benefit?
Take a moment to think about that…
Pioneering Minds
The summit featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including Erik Voorhees from ShapeShift, Patri Friedman from Pronomos Capital, Max Borders, author of "The Decentralist”, Kyle Smith from LexDAO, and Adam Miller from MIDAO
And as you hear them talk, many things happen, such as: ideas emerge, you get different perspectives to compare and contrast to your own, and also something very important: you might feel that you belong, your vision is somehow shared.
If you have not joined us at Infinita in a conference yet, and so far this sounds like something that gets your lightbulb on, dear reader, I think it’s time!
Pitching The Future
The very last day of the conference event we had such a time! We had 16 pitches showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit and the creative potential within the community to contribute to making this a thriving and prosperous society.
The next two posts, you’ll hear about those pitches, stay tuned.
