Introducing the "Stranded Technologies Podcast"
Innovation is hamstrung by old-world institutions. We could have had covid-19 vaccines earlier, and better booster shots against each new variant. We could have greater financialization of real estate and startup investing. I’m reading an interesting book now that argues we could have even have flying cars already.
I set out on a mission to unlock the potential of these “stranded technologies”. As part of this mission, I started a podcast to talk to entrepreneurs, policymakers and experts to talk about how to balance unleashing disruptive innovations while responsible.
The first five episodes are out:
Ep. 1: Navigating the Regulatory Maze of International Finance, Banking in Emerging Markets and Crypto in Special Jurisdictions w/ Sean Pawley & Rasheed Griffith
Ep. 2: Medical Ethics, the FDA and the Byzantine Journey for Patients to Access Non-Approved Drugs w/ Simone Azevedo & Henk Schuring
Ep. 3: Robin Hanson on Decision-Prediction Markets in Firms, The Long Road to Innovation and the Future of Governance w/ Tom Bennett
Ep. 4: Jessica Flanigan on Patients’ Rights vs. Medical Paternalism, the Ethics of Human Challenge Trials and Accelerating Medical Innovation
Ep. 5: Bart de Witte on Open Innovation, Healthcare AI and the Narrative for the Future
I would appreciate if you could follow it, and give it 5-stars! Also let me know if you have any guest wishes. I promise the audio will improve rapidly too!
